Sri. T. N. Jayachandran I.A.S. (Retd.) inaugurated the function. Dr.Sajitha Bashir presented a paper on 'Towards a Modern Concept and Practice of Democracy'.

Smt. Padma Ramachandran (former Chief Secretary, Govt. of Kerala), Prof. Uma Devi (Dept. of Economics, Kerala University), Mrs. Saradamony (I.M.G, Thiruvananthapuram) and Shyla K. John made presentations on the topic 'Women in Politics and Governance. Sri. K. V. Surendranath, Sri. Kosala Ramadas, Sri.Das and Sri. C. K. Lukose spoke on the topic 'Working Class and Political Process.

Dr. P. J. Alexander,presented a paper on 'Electoral Reforms in the Context of Empowerment'. Mr. Prakash Rao (Committee for People's Empowerment, Delhi) spoke on drawing up a people's agenda for electoral reforms.

15th May 1991: Industrial Development in Kerala at VMFT Hall.
Dr. P. Mohanan Pillai, Associate Fellow, C.D.S., delivered the keynote address, Dr. Babu Paul I.A.S., Commissioner & Secretary, Housing & Tourism, Government of Kerala inaugurated the meeting and Dr. K. K. Sri. K. Chandrasekharan, Hon. Minister for Education inaugurated the Seminar. Pro£ Samuel Mathai, former Vice-Chancellor, Kerala University presided. Dr. N. A Karim, former Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Kerala University made a presentation on the topic. Dr. A. Sukumaran Nair, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Kerala University, Dr. P. T. Shandy, former Vice-Chancellor; Dr. P. K. Gopalakrishnan and Sri. P. T. Bhaskara Panikker were the key speakers. In the general meeting held in the evening, Dr. A. N. P. Sri. P. K. Michael Tharakan, Senior Fellow, Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum, gave an illuminating lecture on the subject. Dr. A. N. P. Ummerkutty presided.

21st July 1989: Release of Book 'Sahitya Patanangal' at VMFT Hall. 
The book on literary criticism by Sn. P.S.Nabeeb Mohammed I.A.S., Member of Central Administrative Tribunaland former Vice-Chancellor of Kerala University, was releasedin a function presided by Padmashree K. M. George. A copy of the book was received by Sri. T. N. Jayachandran I.A.S.,Secretary and Commissioner for Higher Education and former Vice-Chancellor of Calicut University. Dr. K. Ayyappa Panicker,Sri. T. N. Jayachandran and Sri. P. S. Nabbed Mohammed spoke on the occasion. Sri. M. Eesa proposed vote of thanks.

4th March 1989 : Sri. M. Govindan Commemmoration Meeting at VMFT Hall. 
A meeting was held in commemoration of Sri. M. Govindan, a versatile.genius in Malayalam literature. Dr. K. Ayyappa Panicker and Sri. P. K. Balakrishnan made speeches bringing out the unusual personality of Sri. M. Govindan.

10th May 1994: Fourth K. M.Bashir Memorial Lecture at Thiruvananthapurarn Y.M.C.A. Hall. 
Prof. P. K. Iyengar (Director,Science & Technology,Environment, former Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission)delivered the lecture on Higher Education and Human Resource Development with particular reference to Science and Technology.

22nd May 1993: Third K.M.Bashir Memorial Lecture at Bank Employee's Union Hall, Polyamide.
Dr. Sarvepally Gopal delivered the lecture on Secularism: A Historical Perspective. 

31st October 1992: Vakkom Moulavi Memorial Lecture and Commemorative Meeting at VMFT Hall. 
Mahakavi Sri. M.P.Appan made commemorative reference and Mr. K. P. Mamootty (Director, L.B.S. Centre for Science & Technology) delivered the Memorial Lecture on Growth of Higher Education in the Post-Independence period and Minorities.

14th March 1992: Second K. M. Bashir Memorial Lecture and Commemorative Meeting at the Muslim Association Hall. 
The Hon'ble Union Minister Sri. Salman Khurshid delivered the K. M. Bashir Memorial Lecture on Secularism in India.Sri.Thalekunnil Bashir, ex.M.P. presided over the function.Sri. C. V. Padmarajan, Hon'bal Minister for Electricity,Haji K. B. A. Hameed I.A.S.(Retd.) and Prof. V. K. Damodaran,Director, Science and Technology Department, Kerala, made the commemorative references. Sri. T. N. Jayachandran I.A.S., Secretary, Higher Education released the single.volume edition of 'Deepika' of Vakkom Moulavi brought out by the VMFT,presenting a copy to Haji S. Syed Khan, President, Muslim Association, Thiruvananthapuram. Sri. S. Peer Mohammed President M.E.S. Thiruvananthapuram Dist., presented the K. M.Bashir Memorial Award to the First Rank Holders in M.Sc (Statistics) of Kerala University during 1991- 92.

31st October 1991 : Vakkom Moulavi Memorial Lecture and Commemmorative Meeting at VMFT Hall
Dr.N.A.Karim presided.Dr.C. A. Abdussalam, former Pro-Vice Chancellor, Cochin University and Special Private Secretary to the Hannibal Education Minister, delivered the memorial lecture on Socio-Economic Backwardness of Minorities in India.
